AI Chat Assistant

This guide covers how to use the AI chat assistant -- which understands your project context -- to efficiently perform creative tasks such as script writing, prompt generation, cut splitting, character/location design, and more.

Overview

Cutflow's AI chat assistant is a free AI creative helper available within your project. You can chat with it unlimited times without consuming credits, and it provides assistance with full awareness of your project's characters, locations, storyboard, scripts, and other context.

Key Features

  • Free to use: AI chat does not consume credits. Chat freely and develop your ideas.
  • Project context awareness: The AI understands the current project's title, description, registered characters (@IDs) and locations (@LocationIDs), and all cuts' scripts and prompts.
  • Scope-specific behavior: The AI operates in different roles depending on whether you are in the Editor or the Studio.
  • Direct apply feature: You can apply AI-generated content to the corresponding cut or character/location description with a single button click.

Writing Scripts with AI

From Idea to Script

Describe your drama idea to the AI chat assistant, and it will complete a structured script for you.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Describe your idea: Freely describe the overview of the drama you want to create.

    Example:

"I want to create a scene where a woman in her 20s accidentally runs into her first love at a cafe. Romance drama vibe."

  2. Answer AI questions: If the AI does not have enough information, it will ask follow-up questions about genre, mood, character relationships, etc. Answering these produces a more accurate script.

  3. Script generation: The AI generates a script in Cutflow's script format.

    Script format example:

    [SCENE: @Cafe - Afternoon]
(Warm afternoon sunlight streams through the window. Soft jazz music plays.)

@Seohee (looking up from her book while sipping coffee)
    "Wait...?"

(A man sitting at the opposite table. A familiar figure from behind.)

  4. Apply: Click the "Apply" button below the AI response to immediately apply the script to the selected cut.

Iterative Editing

If you are not happy with the generated script, you can continue the conversation to refine it.

  • "Make it more suspenseful"
  • "Make the dialogue shorter and more impactful"
  • "Give @Jaden's lines a cooler vibe"
  • "Add a plot twist to the last scene"

The AI remembers the previous conversation context, so you can naturally continue with modification requests.

Prompt Generation

Image Prompt Auto-Generation

With a scripted cut selected, you can ask the AI to generate an image prompt.

"Create an image prompt for this cut"

The AI analyzes the script content and generates a visual description prompt optimized for keyframe image generation.

  • It describes the scene composition, lighting, and color palette in detail.
  • It includes camera angles (close-up, medium shot, wide shot, etc.).
  • It specifically describes the character's expression and posture.

Video Prompt Auto-Generation

"Create a video prompt for this cut"

The AI focuses on dynamic elements, unlike the image prompt.

  • Character movement changes and emotional transitions
  • Camera movements (pan, tilt, zoom, etc.)
  • Time passage and scene transition effects

@Character / @Location Recognition

When you use @charactername or @locationname in a prompt, the AI automatically references that character's or location's registered description.

Direct Apply to Cut

AI-generated prompts can be applied directly to the cut with the Apply button.

  • script apply: Applies the script to the cut's script field
  • prompt apply: Applies the image prompt to the cut
  • video_prompt apply: Applies the video prompt to the cut

Cut Splitting

Auto-Split a Long Script into Individual Cuts

If you provide a single long script (a full episode script) to the AI, it will automatically split it by scene and create individual cuts.

How to Use

  1. Enter the full script in the AI chat, or describe your drama idea.

    Example:

"Split the following script into cuts: [full script content]"

    Or:

"Write a short romance script in 5 cuts"

  2. The AI generates scripts for each cut and structures them.

  3. Click the "Add Cuts" button to automatically add cuts to the storyboard.

Tip: The Shot Plans feature lets you go beyond cut splitting -- it also automates model recommendations, credit estimation, and batch keyframe generation.

Usage Tips

How to Make Effective Requests

  • Be specific: "Create a short romance scene script about two people reuniting at a cafe" produces better results than "Write a script."
  • Chat with a cut selected: When working on a specific cut, select it in the editor before chatting. The AI will automatically focus on that cut.
  • Use iterative editing: Rather than expecting a perfect result on the first try, gradually refine through conversation.
  • Use @mentions: Prefixing character/location names with @ causes the AI to generate content reflecting their registered traits.
  • Use Studio chat for descriptions: When writing character/location descriptions, use the Studio's AI chat -- the [Apply to Description] button lets you apply changes instantly.

Language Awareness

The AI chat responds in the language you input. If you chat in Korean, it responds in Korean; if in English, it responds in English. Prompts are generally generated in English, as this tends to produce better image/video results.

Resetting the Conversation

When the project direction changes significantly or you want to start fresh on a new topic, you can use the reset (trash can) button at the top of the chat to delete the entire conversation history. Resetting does not affect the project's cuts, scripts, or characters.

FAQ

Q: Does AI chat consume credits?

No. The AI chat feature is completely free. You can chat unlimited times without consuming credits. Credits are only consumed for actual AI media generation tasks such as image generation, video generation, and Character Sheet generation.

Q: Can I edit prompts generated by the AI?

Yes. After applying an AI-suggested prompt with Apply, you can edit it directly in the Cut Editor. Alternatively, you can ask the AI to modify it, such as "Revise this prompt to have a darker mood."

Q: Does the AI remember previous conversations?

Yes. It remembers the conversation history (up to 100 messages) within the same project. This allows you to naturally continue with modification requests referencing previous conversations. Resetting the conversation clears the memory.

Q: Are Editor chat and Studio chat histories shared?

No. Editor scope and Studio scope conversation histories are managed separately. Each scope has its own independent conversation.

Q: Cut splitting is not working properly.

The AI may occasionally produce format errors when generating cut splits. In this case, the system automatically attempts recovery. If it still does not work, try requesting in a more concise format. Alternatively, the Shot Plans feature provides a more reliable way to split cuts.
