Getting Started

Everything you need to start using Cutflow -- from sign-up to creating your first project and understanding the interface.

Overview

This document explains how to access Cutflow for the first time, sign up, create a project, and understand the editor and Studio interfaces. Once you complete these steps, you will be ready to start producing short-form dramas.

Sign Up & Log In

Google OAuth Login

Cutflow currently supports Google account login.

  1. Go to app.cutflow.so in your browser.
  2. Click the [Sign in with Google] button on the login screen.
  3. Select your Google account and complete authentication.
  4. Once authenticated, you will be automatically redirected to the dashboard.

In-App Browser Considerations

Google's security policies block OAuth login in certain in-app browsers. Login may fail in the following situations:

EnvironmentStatusSolution
Chrome, Safari, Edge, FirefoxNormal-
Instagram in-app browserBlockedTap ... in the top-right > Select "Open in browser"
Facebook in-app browserBlockedTap ... in the top-right > Select "Open in browser"
KakaoTalk in-app browserUnstableCopy the link and open in Chrome/Safari
LINE in-app browserUnstableCopy the link and open in Chrome/Safari

Tip: If you experience login issues, copy the URL (app.cutflow.so) and access it directly in Safari or Chrome.

Session & Auto Logout

  • Login sessions last for 24 hours.
  • After 24 hours or extended inactivity, you will be automatically redirected to the login page.
  • After logout, Google re-authentication is required.

Creating Your First Project

Dashboard

The first screen displayed after login is the Dashboard. On the dashboard, you can view and manage your list of created projects.

  • Clicking the credit balance badge opens the credit purchase modal.
  • Clicking a project card navigates to that project's editor.

Project Creation Process

  1. Click the [+ Create New Project] button on the dashboard.
  2. The Project Creation Modal will appear.

Project Name

Enter a name to identify your project.

  • Minimum 1 character, maximum 50 characters
  • Default: "Untitled Project"
  • You can change it after project creation.

Aspect Ratio

Select the aspect ratio applied to all images and videos in the project.

RatioTypePrimary PlatformDescription

1:1SquareInstagram FeedSquare content
4:5InstagramInstagram FeedPortrait Instagram content

Important: The aspect ratio cannot be changed after project creation. Only AI models that support the selected ratio will be available, so choose carefully based on your intended purpose.

Resolution

Select the resolution for generated images and videos.

Project Management

Right-click a project card on the dashboard, or click the three-dot (...) button to access the following menu:

  • Rename: Edit the project name.
  • Duplicate: Copy the project.
  • Delete: Delete the project (cannot be recovered).

Understanding the Interface

A Cutflow project has two main pages: the Editor and the Studio.

Editor

The main workspace where storyboard production takes place. It uses a 3-panel layout.

+------------------+-----------------------------+-------------------+
| Left Panel | Center Panel | Right Panel |
| | | |

+------------------+-----------------------------+-------------------+

Left Panel

The left panel contains three sections: Characters, Locations, and Storyboard.

Character List: Displays characters registered in the project in a condensed view (up to 3 items + "+N more"). Clicking an item navigates to the Studio and opens that character's detail panel.

Location List: Displays locations registered in the project in a condensed view (up to 3 items + "+N more"). Clicking an item navigates to the Studio.

Storyboard (Cut List): Displays the full list of cuts in the project. Each cut shows a thumbnail, cut number, script preview, and progress status. Clicking a cut displays that cut's editing screen in the center panel. You can reorder cuts with drag and drop.

Center Panel -- Cut Editor

The core area where actual production work takes place. It consists of Script, Keyframes, and Takes -- three tabs that each handle one stage of cut completion.

  • Script tab: Write scripts using the block editor (Location, Action, Dialog blocks)
  • Keyframes tab: Generate AI image prompts, create keyframes, and select a representative
  • Takes tab: Generate AI video prompts, create Takes, and select a representative

For detailed Cut Editor usage, see the Cut Editor document.

Right Panel -- AI Chat

The AI chat assistant lives here. It helps with script writing, prompt generation, cut splitting, and other creative tasks. You can chat unlimited times without consuming credits.

For detailed AI chat usage, see the AI Chat Assistant document.

Studio

A dedicated page for designing and managing characters and locations. Access it via the [Manage in Studio] link in the editor's left panel or the [Studio] tab in the top navigation.

  • Character/location card grid + detail panel layout
  • Concept image, Character Sheet, and location image generation and management
  • Variation system (outfits, time of day, etc.)
  • Design-focused AI chat

For detailed Studio usage, see the Character & Location Studio document.

Congratulations! Your first AI short-form drama is complete.

Tips & Best Practices

  1. Complete characters and locations in the Studio first: The quality of sheets and images determines the consistency of all subsequent keyframes.
  2. Write detailed scripts: The quality of AI prompt generation is proportional to the specificity of your script. Describe the scene, mood, and actions in detail.
  3. Validate thoroughly at the image stage: Video generation costs significantly more credits than image generation, so make sure the keyframe is satisfactory before generating video.
  4. Use the 9:16 ratio: Short-form dramas are primarily consumed on mobile, so the 9:16 portrait ratio is the best fit.
  5. Choose project settings carefully: The aspect ratio cannot be changed after project creation, so decide based on your target platform in advance.
